Dr Mkhize is a qualified Clinical Psychologist with 14 years of experience in the field. She completed her undergraduate degree BA-UNIZULU, Postgraduate degree -Honours BA in UNIZULU, Masters in Clinical Psychology UKZN (PMB) and went on to pursue her PhD in Community Psychology in UNIZULU.
Before starting her journey as a qualified Psychologist, she worked as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant at King Edward Hospital from 1994-2003. She also worked for the Department of Correctional Services (Durban Westville Correctional Centre) as a Chief Clinical Psychologist from 2007 to 2010. Dr Mkhize has extensive and comprehensive experience working in one of the biggest hospitals in the province and in a prison setting.
Dr Mkhize is dedicated to servicing patients in a meaningful way, helping patients through social, vocational and personal adjustment to allow them to lead normal, meaningful and fulfilling lives.
She has always regarded it as very vital to develop herself professionally. Dr Mkhize earned her PhD while overseeing her private practice that focuses on children, adolescents, adults and families. She primarily practices in cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic and family therapy.
